BOSTON — September 17, 2015 — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Blue Cross) has again been recognized as one of the highest-performing health insurers in the United States, according to the NCQA's Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2015–2016.
This year NCQA rated over 1,300 health plans for their:
- Effectiveness of wellness and prevention efforts, including immunizations, cancer screenings and disease treatment;
- Access to high-quality primary and specialty care; and
- Member Satisfaction.
NCQA Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2015–2016 rated Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts:
- The highest-rated Medicare PPO plan in America, with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.1 Our Medicare PPO was a top ten plan for four years from 2011-2015; 1
- One of the nation's top rated Medicare HMO plans; and1
- In the top 10 percent nationally for Private Health Insurance Plans for both HMO and PPO products.2
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts also received a 4.5 out of 5 rating for its Prevention and Treatment measures in our Private HMO and PPO products and Medicare HMO product, which are the highest scores in the nation for health plans.1,2
